The Lounsbury Tree

The Lounsbury Tree is a paper newsletter that's published twice yearly. It contains information that is valuable to family members and researchers, including:

Each newsletter contains about 20 pages of this information. Content contributed by readers comprises most of the newsletter, along with some editorial content. On-line versions of the issues, beginning with the Fall 1998 issue, can be viewed at http://www.jurista.com/Lounsbery/ltree/. For storage reasons, photos that appear in the Tree are not yet available in the on-line edition.

The newsletter has been published regularly since 1981. Its original editors were Gert Dennis and Marie Lounsbury of the Helderberg branch of the family near Albany, NY. Al Lounsbury of Saratoga Springs was the editor from 1983 until the spring 1998 issue. Now, Jim Jurista edits the newsletter with assistance from Al.

The Tree is also known as the "L" Tree to accomodate other spellings of the name.

It is an invaluable source of entertainment and information for those researching the family; when I first read it I simply could not believe the number of people that are interested in this family's history and who are active members of the L community.
